Switzerland has three national network operators, Swisscom, Sunrise, and Salt, and a much longer list of budget brands that resell capacity on those same networks, often at a fraction of the price. The brand on the SIM doesn’t determine your coverage, the underlying network does, so it’s worth checking which network a budget brand actually runs on before you compare prices.

- Wingo (Swisscom network): from CHF 13.95/month for 5GB up to CHF 24.95/month for unlimited domestic data, CHF 59 one-off activation, no minimum contract.
- M-Budget Mobile (Swisscom network): Mini at CHF 19/month for 2GB, Maxi at CHF 29/month for 4GB, Mega at CHF 39/month, CHF 49 activation, 2-month notice period, no minimum duration.
- Yallo: Start at CHF 35/month for unlimited data (60 minutes calls), Swiss Data at CHF 59/month for unlimited data with more calling minutes, Swiss Plus at CHF 60/month adding EU roaming data.

What actually matters when choosing
- Which underlying network a budget brand uses, coverage in your area depends on the network, not the brand name on the SIM
- Whether you need a Swiss phone number quickly for banking or job applications, prepaid SIMs from a kiosk or supermarket are usually the fastest route
- Contract length and cancellation terms if you are not sure how long you will stay
- EU/international roaming and calling allowances if you travel or call home often
Best for / avoid if
Best for arriving quickly: a prepaid SIM bought same-day, then switch to a cheaper monthly plan once you have settled.
Avoid if: you sign a long contract before confirming network coverage at your actual home and workplace addresses.
