If you’re paying for streaming in Switzerland, there’s a good chance you’re overpaying — not because the services are overpriced, but because most households never check whether a telecom bundle would be cheaper than paying Netflix, Disney+ and the rest separately. Here’s what’s actually available here, and where the real savings are.
Which streaming services are actually available in Switzerland
Switzerland has access to all the major international streamers, including Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+ and Paramount+. On top of these, Swiss telecom providers sell their own TV platforms — Swisscom’s blue TV and Sunrise TV — which bundle live channels, replay, and increasingly, third-party streaming apps into one interface. “Sky Show” is the streaming brand sold through these Swiss platforms; it’s a different product from the UK/German Sky pay-TV service, so don’t assume the two overlap.
One thing worth knowing if you’re comparing old advice online: UPC, the cable provider many long-term residents remember, no longer exists as a separate brand. It merged with Sunrise starting in 2020, and by 2022 all UPC products and customers had been migrated fully to the Sunrise brand.
Swisscom’s blue Binge: bundling Netflix and Disney+
Swisscom sells a package called blue Binge that bundles Netflix Basic and Disney+ Standard for CHF 24.90 per month. Bought separately, Netflix Basic (CHF 14.90) and Disney+ Standard (CHF 16.90) add up to CHF 31.80, so the bundle saves roughly CHF 6.90 a month — a real discount, but note it requires an existing Swisscom blue Internet and TV subscription, or a Swisscom mobile subscription, to sign up. The package has a 12-month minimum term, after which it can be cancelled monthly, and upgrades to Netflix Standard/Premium or Disney+ Premium are available for a monthly surcharge.

Sunrise: streaming apps without a TV subscription
Sunrise takes a slightly different approach. It has integrated Netflix, Disney+, Sky Show and other apps directly into the Sunrise TV Box and the “My Sunrise” app, so subscriptions can be added or managed in one place. Notably, Sunrise has opened this up to customers who only have a Sunrise mobile, internet, or home-security subscription — you don’t need to be a Sunrise TV customer to buy streaming access through them, which Swisscom’s blue Binge currently requires. Exact current pricing and any active promotions should be checked on Sunrise’s own site, since introductory offers change.
What we couldn’t verify
We looked for a comparable Salt streaming bundle and could not confirm one from a reliable source — if Salt offers a Netflix or Disney+ package, check directly with Salt rather than relying on this article. Standalone Sky Show pricing outside of a telecom bundle also couldn’t be confirmed from a primary source at time of writing.
General ways to cut streaming costs
- Before buying services separately, check whether your existing telecom provider (Swisscom or Sunrise) offers a bundled rate — the discount can be meaningful, as with blue Binge above
- Review your active subscriptions every few months; it’s easy to keep paying for a service you stopped watching
- Watch for provider-run promotional periods (e.g. around Black Friday), when telecoms sometimes discount streaming add-ons — but confirm current terms directly with the provider, as offers change frequently
